This isn’t a repeat, and is a slightly different take on the usual breakout/arkanoid game. Instead of shooting from the bottom of the playing arena we shoot from the right side. Okay, Ball 7 had some levels that allowed you to do this, but apart from that I know of only a few arkanoids that play like this – Z Ball and Krakout.

this is one of the more funny game with a very nice interface and it looks like a mix of classic and modern game with a very a number of lvl and game modes.
i really like that you can unlock and move freely around and clear the bricks with rockets and other fun things.
this is a definately a thumbs up and recommended download.
the game will be a wonderful timekiller when you are bored.

Thank you, GGAOTD… this certainly does put a different perspective on arkanoids! I’m not really a big fan of them, but I’ll certainly be keeping this one for awhile. And thanks for your review and insight, Sir Wrabbit!

What a shame and to think I was going to mow the yard… for those of you who like break-out style games.. this one is just as good as any I’ve played… thanks GAOTD.

It’s nice to see Arkainoid game offered here. Some arkanoids can be addicting. I have just downloaded and installed this, can’t say if it’s one of those.

Excellent game, installed and runs flawlessly on Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Be sure to install it as an administrator, either by right-clicking the setup file then left-clicking “run as administrator”, or by typing “run” in the “start search” field directly above the start button, then browsing to the setup executable, which will do the same thing.

Downloaded it, played it, hey its a neat game. I am not a fan of breakout style games, but this has a lot of different quirks. Very neat, thanks giveaway team.

I find that the interface detracts from the game. The tutorial is quite obstructive, and random items flying across the board makes the game cluttered. I say it rates below most arkanoids given away here previously.

@W.D.: Aw, come on. Don’t be a party pooper. It seems to me that “Arkanoid” is an entire category of games, not just a trademark of some company.

started playing and it definitely seems to be a keeper! turned off the tips after the first round and by the third round was getting the hang of what the bonuses were. takes a bit of getting used to but that is what makes it so much fun. thanks for another great game!

  13. mikezanespark says:

GMMan – I turned off the tutorial, like you I do not care for all the writing everywhere. It was fine after that. Have you tried playing it with the tutorial turned off?

  14. Terry Pardy says:

The only thing wrong with the game is the appalling English – probably not programmed by an English speaker – think I’ll take notes and let them know the mistakes!

    What you waiting for??????
    Go downloaded.

Game is interesting, but not well balanced. Too many of powerful bonuses, after some training you are going through the game without serious troubles. But the bonus levels are extremely difficult.

I like the game, except for two things; there seems to be a small bug whereby the ball can wind up with zero speed. So while the game keeps going, the ball is setting on the screen out of reach of everything and no way to restart it. This happened to me twice today. Eventually one of the monsters got the paddle so I died and it restarted, but it would be annoying on a hard level.

Two, in the install process it tells me “error opening file for writing: \.arkanoidsb\key” which I imagine explains why it is still the “unregistered version”. So I’m downloading Furiod, hope that’s as good… although I wonder why it has to be 500 megs

Nice game but maybe a little too easy and too little challenging.
Some bad spelling in the game, too.

  19. Julie says:

fun game, but a bad day for me to get it, I have 2 papers I have to write for school that are due tonight.
I will add this to my collection of breakout games that include the egyptoids, break out and others, about 7 all together. I play these games when I don’t want to use my brain. Thanx GGOTD

  20. Mad Ollie says:

Oh my, how many levels are there? I’m in level 102 and there’s no end in sight.
(I had thought maybe level 100 could be the last one. Now I’ve lost my goal…)

Today’s game is portble. I transferred it to another computer and it worked as the full version. all poerups wer unlocked and I played it for over an hour without any messges popping up to say it as a demo. When I tested the demo yesterday it was limited to 60 minur=tes and I got warnings when there was only 20 minutes and then 10 minutes left.

There are supposed t be 100 levels, but there’s also a levels editor and I think a random generator (though not sure wether our version has this latter facility.

With the tutorial off and auto bonuses turned on, the game is a little more difficult, but on the whole, if you’re a regular arkanoid player, this game will seem rather easy. Though I still find it a fun game to play.

Have been in the hospital for 4 months and it seems I’ve missed some good games. Glad to see admins. taking a active role, defending our English as a second language brothers and sisters! Most of us would be lost if GOATD decided to change to another language. Not all games are made in America and if #26 really wants to help out, there are a number of volunteer programs that are looking for help.
Hey Stephen missed reading your comments every weekend, just like I missed my fav. Times writers!
Game style not my cup of tea usually, but having fun with this!

  24. Davidrs says:

A good and somewhat unusual version of an old classic genre.

One interesting side note about this game is… I found one of the funniest error in in a game in a long time. If you can get a stealing hand to take your ball to the oppisite end of the playing flield and slowly return with there is a multi-ball going, then on a raire occattion it with release the ball it has and go after the other ball. What made this fustraighting and humorous is that I had a second hand come on screen and try to take the frist one but I think I shot it because one crash into the paddle going after a dieing ball and the other goes poof near the frist ball, and this is the big punchline it drops it perfectly stopped BOTH in and out of play. In play because it is on screen and keeps the game going. And out of play due to it not interacting with any thing else, I know because I had spaceships, rocketships, astroids, and supernovas pass right over it about just right of center screen. And on top of that the helicopers and new hands that came on screen afterward sat in their pop in postions watching the ball sit here. So, I had about 8 helicopters, 3 hands, 3 supernovas, 4 astroids, 2 rocketships and a handful of up and down bricks on screen all at once before I accidently quit trying to show my family. Lucky for me it shows your game in the background when you do that. That type of error ranks up there with the epic pinball error where if you hit the ball just right you can get it stuck up in the left most of the 3 entry bumpers, and you could leave the game for days and come back to you still racking up the points.
